Local unemployment numbers remain fairly unchanged from October into November. Illinois Department of Employment Security officials say that La Salle Countys unemployment remained unchanged at 7.9 percent. Putnam County was up slightly to 7.1 percent from 6.6 percent. Livingston County saw a slight decline to 5.8 percent from six percent. Overall throughout the Ottawa-Streator area, unemployment was down slightly to 7.7 percent from 7.8 percent. Officials said that manufacturing saw the biggest gain in jobs with 100, while leisure and hospitality jobs fell 75.
