Located side by side, NTUC’s new SEED Institute campus and preschool The Caterpillar’s Cove will provide better research and training for more preschool teachers in the Singapore early childhood sector. Costing a total of S$1.85 million, the SEED institute will be able to train about 7,200 preschool teachers every year, up from the present 5,600, to cater to the increasing number of childcare spaces in the next few years. While the number of potential preschool teachers will increase significantly by almost +30%, will the quality of these teachers be enhanced as well?
