Lockheed To Rebrand Atlas 5 Launches, A2100 Platform. Space News (3/12, de Selding, Subscription Publication) reported that Lockheed Martin is offering free re-flights or refunds for commercial Atlas 5 launch customers “in the event of a launch failure.” The article noted that the promotional offer is designed to compensate for the Atlas 5’s perceived exorbitant costs while also promoting its reliability. The company is also looking to streamline and better tailor its A2100 satellite platform production following such setbacks as the loss of the Japanese Sky Perfect JSat client.
