Loke Ann hotel will be closed from the day after tomorrow, 1st of October. However, the struggle is not ended yet, it still will continue through jurisdictive process. Therefore, Kaki Jelajah Warisan would like to take this opportunity to invite all concerned citizens to pay a visit to Lok Ann hotel, showing support to Lok Ann and pay respects to Tan’s family, the owner of Lok Ann. The event will begin at 5pm, 30th September. You are welcomed to write down your wishes to Lok Ann, as pens and papers will be prepared (Please take your own one if you need writing brush), and they will be pasted on the pillar of the hotel, letting passersby to feel the warmth in the future. After this, the participants will receive a egg cake in celebration of the 75 year-old relationship between Lok Ann and Jalan Sultan. As we all know, many old streets in the country are dieing, and the civil society pay great concern to it. Kaki Jelajah Warisan, the organizer of this event, hopes citizens would understand more about old streets through the activity, and learn the contribution of our forefathers to this land. It is also hoped that the citizens will build a strong connection with the old streets, and even understand “Without old street, we won’t be here”.
