Lol I got dragged into canadian matter by Matt Becks. Long story short: There was an article about some guy getting hit or killed & his family sued for millions and something happen to the family & was revictumized (Correct me if I am wrong Matt too lazy to translate). So Matt commented in english, then Mr. Regents told Matt to speaking in canadian french because of his proud up bring in Québec. Matt said he was sorry and it was a reflex due to living in America for while now. Some how it lead into Mr. Regents trying to call Matt out for not having his birth as his musician name. Matt told him it was 1) He is tired of spelling/pronouncing his very canadian. 2) Its a name that just rolls off the tongue. 3) Its a money making name. 4)It was his choice to change his name and was nobody. Mr regents then to make other rude comments which Matt counter strike with facts. I weighted in on twitter about it and that was how I got dragged into canadian matters. Not for nothing people change their names for a lot reasons and trying to be entertainment artist is top reason. Look at Lady gaga (Stefani Germanotta), Nicki Minaj (Onika Maraja), 50 cent (Curtis Jackson), Bam Margera (Brandon Margera), Michael Keaton (Michael Douglas). I can go on but these names are house hold names that have sold/made millions off of their names. So Mr. Regents as American who does make the effort of pronouncing Toupin, its not about being lazy or the person being ashamed of their roots; it about what works and what doesnt in today society.
