Loneliness is a killer that kills slowly but very surely, hugging, - TopicsExpress

Loneliness is a killer that kills slowly but very surely, hugging, and its related emotions and actions helps us to staves off the darkness, keeps us connected to each other and makes the pain of this existence that much more bearable. It is for those reasons that creatures kept isolated will die way before their time, why prisoners kept in solitary confinement for years at a time will eventually lose their will to live and become sick and why we all need each other. Without intimacy (hugs as one example), there is no real reason to keep fighting because to feel the heartbeat and the literal life of another against our own heartbeat is to me something quite awesome. A rat living in a cage on its own will die quickly, as will a Guinea pig. We are highly social creatures who search each other out simply for a connection. Some may not like it and may even deny it but a fact is a fact. Over a great span of time, we literally do need each other to survive because disconnected, with no one to love, to talk to, to hug, the mind will become a hole that devours itself.
