Singers are encouraged to attend all rehearsals, however Mr. Bussewitz-Quarm is comfortable with an absence or two, if necessary. Those who miss more than three rehearsals will be asked to demonstrate privately that they are comfortable singing their part with the notations and phrasings given in rehearsal. Rehearsals are intense, but exciting, with little down time for any section. All participants are encouraged to know their parts before the first rehearsal so Mr. Bussewitz-Quarm can focus rehearsals on phrasing, diction, breath control, balance, interpretation and the numerous elements that go into making this performance one to remember. Every segment of every rehearsal will be utilized to properly prepare this wonderfully unique community of dedicated singers for this masterpiece. We are thrilled to announce that Sound Symphony will be accompanying Long Island Voices for this performance. In order to fund this project, all singers are asked to make a contribution to the campaign beginning Thursday, June 26th and ending on Sunday, August 24th. The suggested contribution is at the Supporter Level or higher. However, a contribution is not a requirement to sing with Long Island Voices. Michael feels that every singer who has the motivation to sing for our veterans should have the opportunity to make a difference. All singers are encouraged to promote this campaign, early and often, so that our goal can be met. The levels of support are as follows: $50 Supporters $75 Sponsors $100 Conductor’s Circle $250 Benefactors $500 Producers $1,000 Executive Producers ($1,250 Rent the Orchestra for this concert) $5,000 Angel All levels of support come with recognition in the concert program. Additional levels with various perks will be presented on June 26th for the general public, however, these levels are the suggested levels for the choir. The total cost to produce this concert is $6,000. The breakdown can be found at LIVoices.org. This crowdfunding campaign is run by MB Arts, Mr. Bussewitz-Quarm’s start-up publishing company, and will provide the funding for this benefit concert for Long Island veterans. There are multiple levels in which a donor can join the team of funders, with each level receiving a different level of recognition. There will be no profit made from this campaign. All funds raised in this campaign go directly toward the benefit concert for veterans. If this goal is exceeded, all additional funds will go toward producing a choral album donated to 9-1-1 Veterans, Inc. In short, 100% of all funds contributed will go back into fundraising for Long Island veterans. If you wish to make an early contribution, or have any questions regarding the campaign, please contact Michael Bussewitz-Quarm at [email protected] or (516) 729-0970 To receive campaign updates, rehearsal updates and all matters related to Long Island Voices and this exciting project, feel free to sign up for our newsletter. eepurl/C4emP
