Long Range Weather Update The headline would read Goodbye Autumn & Hello Winter November Although a fairly mixed month, a northwest-southeast split is likely to be a fairly frequent theme during November with northwestern regions often seeing more in the way of unsettled conditions, with locations southeast likely to see more dry, settled spells. Temperatures are expected to be close to or above the norm for the time of year - so if this occurs it will mean all three autumn months have been warmer than average. Winter December Heading into winter there is a lot of uncertainty currently, so confidence is low at this stage. Suggestions are that northern blocking will come more into play at this point, but whether that will translate to cold air being pulled toward the British Isles too regularly is uncertain - currently temperatures are showing as close to, or a little below average. In terms of the rainfall, current expectations are for a close to average month in the south, drier further north. Stay Tuned !
