Long ago and far away, I listened to the wind, heard it howl angry and and loud rattle the window, shake the frame, roaring like an angry devil, determined to cause havoc, somehow it never scared me, tucked away beneath the covers, snuggled tight, knowing it was all right, I heard it shout come ride with me, Ill take you to the milky way,see the stars twinkle so bright and clear, watch up close the moons pearly gleam, feel the suns heat, watch it glo, like the ball of fire it is, skim over rooftops drift on my back,over treetops, maybe even break a branch or two, dip and roll with me, cause chaos whereever we go, and so I would sleep to the winds roar, thinking it was a God from long ago, then again i would hear the gentle breeze, dappling thru the leaves, making them tremble, and shine where the suns rays lay, oh so gentle and kind, Watching little brown birds hover dip and dive, and how i wished I was so alive, ALive to ride the wind, fierce and cruel and gentle and kind, to see the world from above, to hover over those I love, Just a gentle breeze ruffling their hair, touching their face, and watching them laugh with glee, not knowing it was me, Now yrs later, I listen to the train howling its way along wondering where it is bound, Can i go there too, ride in an open doorway, and once again feel the wind in my face, as we race, Race to the unknown,, thru the darkness, into the light, the light that surely will come, when it is time for me to go, to ride the wind and fulfill my dream of long ago. may 12th
