Long before God, the Great I AM, was manifested in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ, 1 Timothy 3:16, the Israelites brought upon themselves a great problem by their constant complaining and speaking against Moses and the Great I AM. “There is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.” Numbers 21:5. This bread they loathed was manna, given to them as a free gift without any effort on their part, from God, to sustain their lives while in the desert. Far into the future from this event, this same God, the Great I AM, who was manifested in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ declared to the descendants of those complaining Israelites, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” John 6:35. But like many of the Israelites of the past who loathed the bread given to them, many of the followers of Jesus “when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?” John 6:60. They began to loath the Living Bread offered to them by Jesus Christ and “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.” John 6: 66. We have been offered this Bread of Life by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We have a choice either to reject this Bread and die spiritually or receive this Bread and obtain Eternal Life. “Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.” John 6:67-69. Jesus Christ, the Great I AM, God manifested in the flesh, our Lord and Savior, invited all to partake of this Bread of Life throughout all the ages. He said, “For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. For I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. Therefore Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isaiah 43: 3, 11, 25 and Isaiah 45:22, Matthew 11:28-30, Zechariah 12:10, Isaiah 55:3.
