Long but reading, This morning Im reflecting on a time when I would walk in a church service and wouldnt allow myself to sit any closer than the last few rows. I felt guilty, unworthy, and out of place in a church setting. I went to a church for 1 yr straight without ever talking to someone except the door greeter. I thank God this morning for His relentless pursuit and unconditional love that kept drawing me back to that place without me even realizing it. Even though I never really developed a friendship with anyone in that church, it is the place where God revealed himself to me. Jesus was alive and I knew it! I surrendered my life to Him. I realized God wasnt looking for perfect people...Just people who would humble themselves before Him and say I need you. To those who have been hurt by people...maybe, tried going to a church but thought you didnt fit in...Just know that going church is not about joining an organization. It is about encountering the one true God and when you accept the price Jesus paid for your sin, immediately you are made right with God and can have an intimate relationship with Him. Then, when you are living from an intimate place in God it is nice to gather with others who have experienced Gods forgiveness and love just like you. So, I encourage you to go to a church, but dont look for people to fill a void that only God can. If youve never encountered the reality of God in your life you can start by praying this simple prayer this morning: God, I surrender my life to you this morning. I realize I cant make myself right by what I do, but that Im only made right by what Jesus did on my behalf. I believe He died for my sin and was buried, but on the third day He rose again. I accept your free gift of salvation and now I am justified before you. Know that Christianity is not about going to heaven or hell but it is about entering into a divine relationship w God Himself. You can actually know Him right now and begin to live the life you were destined for. You can live the GOOD LIFE!
