Long lay the world in sin and error pining..it was the night of our dear Saviors birth. Christmas Eve 1971 I was in deep sin and error pining. I sought the magic of Christmas in everything materially and culturally and came up EMPTY. I went out with a group of classmates to go caroling but it completely flopped as only one of us knew the lyrics to the songs. After taking everyone home I pulled my car over, on Kerr Rd, sat on the hood of my car and cried out to a God I did not yet know. There had to be something huge about Christmas that I did not yet get. If You are out there God..please show me. In my dispair I went home and got crazy drunk and totally ruined my Christmas Day all hung over. But my prayer had been heard. Jesus was soon knocking on the door of my heart and I OPENED IT. Now I know the real mystery and never miss the magic of Christmas..for unto YOU was born this day in the city of Bethlehem a SAVIOR Christ The Lord. He took care of my sin issues and life began anew.
