Long-term Toyota South Africa advertising and marketing communication partner, FCB Joburg, has created a television commercial to celebrate 45 years of Toyota Hilux in South Africa. Showcasing the tough new Toyota Hilux Legend 45, launched to mark the anniversary, the ad was developed by creative director Tian van den Heever, art director Ross Makepeace and copywriter Francois Delport together with group CEO and chief creative officer, Brett Morris. Called ‘Legend’ it also pays homage to every Hilux made since the first in 1969 to the current Toyota Hilux Legend 45 by taking viewers down memory lane. In addition, its features Giant Flag branding, given Toyota South Africa’s sponsorship of this FCB South Africa nation-building legacy initiative1 in the Camdeboo Municipality.
