Long-time Mifflin County boys high school basketball coach Aaron Gingrich has announced his resignation. Gingrich was head coach for the Lewistown boys basketball program from 1998-2011 compiling a record of 198-138 and Aaron was also head boys basketball coach the last three seasons at Mifflin County High School with a mark of 37-36 for a lifetime record of 235-174. Gingrich is the winningest boys basketball coach in the history of Mifflin County. He guided Lewistown to 4 trips to the PIAA state tournament (1999, 2002, 2003, 2004) and Mifflin County to one trip to the PIAA tournament (2012). Its been my pleasure to be the Voice of Aarons teams over the years @ 105.5 WCHX and I wish him the best in his future endeavours. Lost to Hopewell 60-58 in first round AAA state tournament 1999-2000 (Lewistown) 10-15. 2000-2001 (Lewistown) 13-12. 2001-2002 (Lewistown) 14-14. Lost to Steel Valley 56-43 in first round of AAA state tournament 2002-2003 (Lewistown) 17-11. Lost to Hopewell 69-65 in first round of AAA state tournament 2003-2004 (Lewistown) 26-5. Lost to Bradford 62-56 (OT) AAA state quarterfinals 2004-2005 (Lewistown) 15-10. Lost to Forest Hills 67-48 AAA District-6 quarterfinals 2005-2006 (Lewistown) 16-9. Lost to Indian Valley 65-57 in AAA District-6 quarterfinals 2006-2007 (Lewistown) 7-18. Lost to Indian Valley 41-38 in AAA District-6 quartertfinals 2007-2008 (Lewistown) 15-10. Lost to Indian Valley 58-48 in AAA District-6 quarterfinals 2008-2009 (Lewistown) 8-14. 2009-2010 (Lewistown) 17-7. Lost to Huntingdon 50-41 in AAA District-6 semifinals 2010-2011 (Lewistown) 17-7. Lost to Johnstown 53-51 in AAA District-6 semifinals 2011-2012 (Mifflin County) 17-8. Lost at Seneca Valley in the AAAA state play-in game 53-33 2012-2013 (Mifflin County) 9-14. Lost to Hollidaysburg 55-54 in AAAA District-6 quarterfinals 2013-2014 (Mifflin County) 11-12. Lost to State College 49-44 in AAAA District-6 semifinals.
