Long update... Since Kimber didnt do so well coming off of the milrinone, theyve decided that shes staying on it until her next surgery. Theyve also decided to move her Glenn up, so it will be in the next couple of weeks. They will have to do a cath procedure ahead of time. During the cath theyll measure the pressures in her heart and in her lungs. The Glenn wont work if the pressure in her lungs is too high, thats why they typically wont do the surgery a day before babies turn 3 months old. In Kimbers case, given her history, theyre going to try to do it early. They said that if the pressure in her lungs is too high, they can give her medicine after surgery to help relieve some of it. They also seem to think that the coronary problems are focal, so in other words, shes not having coronary problems throughout her heart, but just within the one coronary artery where she had the embolectomy. Soo...it looks like sometime around thanksgiving or early December were going to have a cath procedure and surgery #2, then well go from there! Thats plenty to pray for. 😊
