Look, Everyone, lets not get crazy about this F-rating WA received from First Star for Childrens Rights. Not that young people shouldnt be represented by an attorney or that they shouldnt be recognized as a party to court proceedings, but the authors of the report published by First Star are fetishizing attorney representation to the exclusion of author Rights that youth in WA enjoy that others do not. For example, the existence of a Youth Rights Manual, the type and quality of other youth rights beyond legal counsel, not 1, but 2, youth advocacy groups, etc., etc. We are far from an F-rating in terms of actual rights and how they are applied.
