Look Into the Future By Tom Tognoli COO and Founder Intero Real Estate Services, Inc. If you have never been through the death of a loved one or faced death squarely in the eye it is hard to really and truly understand what are the most important things in life. We all think we know what they are. We all think we are doing the most important things at any given moment and we think we have our priorities in place until something scary and/or tragic is about to happen. Then in a fraction of a second our life comes rushing at us and we realize that what we have been focused on most and the things we thought where so important where really not that important at all. I am as guilty as anyone. Imagine for a minute sitting on a plane about to crash and you knew for sure it was all over. You have a few minutes or seconds to reflect on your life and it is going to be over. Let’s face it…we can’t imagine that unless we’ve been through it. Our brains or the way God wired us does not let us truly glimpse into that feeling… that fear… that sadness… that moment, unless it really happens to us. The only thing we can do is learn from those who have experienced it first-hand. Now, it is impossible for someone who is on a doomed plane to share with you what he or she was thinking about before it went down, because if the plane was doomed that person is no longer around to share it. Well, on January 15, 2009 a group of people where sitting on that doomed plane and stared death squarely in the eye. Miraculously they survived. Rick Alias, who was sitting in seat 1D, was able to come back and share with us what he learned. Check out the TED here on the picture below and then reflect for a moment on your life. What changes do you need to make? What fences do you need to mend? What do you need to focus on in your life? What stupid things and people that you let bother you do you need to get over? Who do you need to hug? How would you change the negative in your own family relationships?
