Look at this... Dear Grace, Congratulations! You have been selected as a 2014 Girl of Merit. This honor recognizes the exceptional effort youve made to serve your community and the leadership and/or inspiration that effort has provided to young women everywhere. Girls World Expo wants to publicly recognize your accomplishments. We invite you to be our guest at a brunch that will be held at 10:00 am on October 26th, where you will be honored as one of the Girl of Merit winners. The brunch will take place prior to the opening of the day’s Girls World Expo, which we hope you will attend. We ask each honoree to come up on stage to accept her award. Brief acceptance remarks of up to 60 seconds will give you an opportunity to acknowledge those who have helped you be successful. Wow...she was selected because of what she has accomplished with her life...here are just some words from the nominations she got from some beautiful people What influence has she had on others? Her faith, her spirit, and her zest for life continues to inspire all those who witness her experiences and pray alongside her family and friends as she faces her many health challenges. She consistently withstands the pain and suffering with bravery and spunk! She is always making sure everyone trying to take care of her is also taken care of too. Her compassion is beyond reproach! In which areas has she excelled? Surviving against all odds! Her life is a testament to fortitude. No matter how much her body betrays her, she remains strong, positive, and inspirational to everyone around her. What are her significant accomplishments?: After being paralyzed from a stroke, Gracie has a huge impact on an organization that touched her life called A Room to Heal...they created a room for Grace. In turn Grace has had on her heart to have our family run that race over the last three years. Each year now we are Team Race for Grace. Our beautiful friend Tammy Buck started this whole process. The first year we walked. The second year was when Grace had her stroke...I ran and pushed Grace in her wheel chair and Grace raised over $1000 for A Room To Heal...this year, Gracie RAN the WHOLE 5K and raised CLOSE to $2000. She still suffers from her disease which there is no cure for and she is facing her 89th surgery soon for malfunction valves in her shunt, but Grace takes every part of her life...and if you ask her...how do you do it? Or how come you are so sweet, or how come you are so kind or beautiful...she will simply say it is all a blessing What influence has she had on others? Gracie has a tender heart with great convictions. She has a way of just passing those morals and standards to people. With her joy, passion and tenderness, people embrace that and want to receive those things from her. I cant tell you how very proud I am of this beautiful gift I have in Gracie Nicole...very proud. I am thankful to her nominators...and the fact she was chosen from such a large pool of nominations! this was from ages 11 to 18 and hundreds were sent in. THANK YOU!
