Look at this face.... how can he not have a home? One of the most gutting experiences in rescue is when someone offers for a dog thats been waiting a really long time for a home - and then disappears off the face of the earth. This has just happened with Monty, the lab x boy who has been waiting for a home to call his own for almost a year now. Ten days ago, after a special appeal for Monty we had a really enthusiastic flurry of emails from a home in Scotland which had 500 acres and a lovely lab boy for company. It sounded totally perfect. I honestly thought wed found lovely Monty his forever home. But the phone number they gave turned out to be wrong. And despite several emails from us since, there has been silence. A plea to this home just in case they are reading this and our emails have been missed... if you are still interested, please.. please get in touch. Time has run out for him at his foster home where Roger and Bev have been so incredibly patient and whose circumstances are such that they really cant keep him (the foster was supposed to be for a few weeks but it has now been months and months). Without the right offer on the table, we may have to put him in kennels which would just destroy him (and us financially). Because of his history, Monty needs an experienced home. He is, we think a Lab x Staffie and in the right hands he will be a doddle - a very sweet, affectionate, easy boy who is very good with other dogs.
