Look closely at the merged picture above, what do you see? Clowns? Yes! You saw right. When someone is elected to lead, he isn’t elected to joke around or play to the gallery. The first 30 years of post Abacha democracy requires serious minded people to shape the country and drive it in the right direction. The chap to the right, Honorable Patrick thought representation was a tea party. He was elected to represent his constituents in the lower house. What did he offer them? He got to the house and instead of raising needful motions and pushing for the right bills to be passed, he was all about using strange and absurd adjectives and confusing his fellow colleagues on the floor. This led to his recall in 2011. He was lucky enough to be rewarded with an appointment in the cabinet of governor Oshiomole. Aregbesola(who’s pictured on the left in brown khaki) is in the same class. He hasn’t really had much to offer. In this pix were he and his cabinet members are dressed up in primary school uniforms, we can see his deputy looking embarrassed by this needless show of ineptness. He has spent his first four years playing to the gallery; trying to act the clown to cover up his flaws. The people of Osun state need to replace him ASAP with a more serious minded fellow. All we’ve heard from Osun state in the past four years are stuff like, ‘O-government’, ‘O-student’, ‘O-rice’, ‘O-teacher’. Ogbeni even went ahead to change the uniforms of primary and secondary school students based on religious beliefs! Also, he had the time to change the nomenclature of Osun state to ‘State of Osun’. I can sum up all these ‘achievements’ in one word; O-FRAUD! Someone who is more serious minded should be voted in come Saturday this week to replace this funny man who has spent the past four years taking his people for a ride. Both these men are front-line card carrying members of the APC. This simple example tells us that the bulk of the APC is made up of a bunch of jokers who aren’t yet ready for the serious task of governance in a complex country like Nigeria.
