Look closely at this bowl. Do you see something broken or something beautiful? Actually, it is both. Thanks to The Old School, I learned about this amazing technique this morning. Kintsugi, an age old Japanese method for repairing broken ceramics was used to repair this bowl. This involves using a special mixture to repair broken items that celebrates the repair instead of trying to hide it. I love this idea of marveling at the joining of these broken pieces instead of trying to make an invisible repair. To me, this makes the piece even more interesting than the original. What do you think?
