Look, we know what sort of policies work. We had them in place from the 1930s until the great satan (aka Ronald Reagan). Californians let the great satan destroy their economy and their public education system in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It took Jerry Brown in the governors office to fix it. Then they let some other conservative idiots in there, notably Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the California economy and their public education systems tanked again. And it took Jerry Brown and some good old liberal Keynesian economic policies to fix it again. The US, as a nation, learned nothing from California and elected the great satan and he did the same things all over again on a national scale: Reaganomics bankrupted our national economy, doubled our national debt, ran up a record federal budget deficit and put our public education and health care systems in the tank. Then Clinton applied some good old liberal policies and we got better. But we just couldnt stand prosperity so we let shrub (aka George W. Bush) steal a couple elections and he put the same disastrous conservative economic and education policies in place that had already wreaked havoc everywhere theyd been tried... and lo, and behold: the national debt TRIPLED. The global economy melted down. Americas education system went right in the toilet. But the damage from shrubs application of conservative economic policies was so deep, so traumatic, that here we are, in the sixth year of a jobless recovery from the Global Meltdown and the Great Recession still lingers because the lunatic Republican party refuses to face the facts: conservative economic and education and health care and environmental policies are HORRIBLE. Theyre lousy. They have never worked and they never will. And theres no amount of moderate centrism that will change that fact. There is no truth to the idea that both sides are to blame. The disasters in our economy, in our schools, in our environment and in our health care system are because of conservative ideology.
