Looking ahead to a new year -- a great time to pause and reflect on what we discovered last year and what remains unsolved, troubling, daunting or hopeful: Check-out Possible Canadas: possiblecanadas.ca/ Canada faces big opportunities and big risks. As we approach the 150th anniversary of our founding, our future is unclear and unsettled. Our strengths and potential are being tested by complex economic, social, political, cultural, and environmental challenges. We might succeed in addressing our challenges and realizing our potential, or we might fail and squander what has and could have been. What will it take for Canadians to succeed in creating a good future? Reos Partners, a company of strategists and facilitators that helps people move forward together on their most important and intractable issues, is searching for answers to this question. We are undertaking this work with an unprecedented coalition of philanthropic and community organisations from across the country: the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, Community Foundations of Canada, the George Cedric Metcalf Charitable Foundation, imagiNation 150, the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation, Maytree, Mindset Social Innovation Foundation, the Rideau Hall Foundation, and Tides Canada. We started off this search by conducting broad-ranging interviews with 50 insightful Canadians. We looked for people with diverse experiences and perspectives from across civil society, business, and government. We asked them ten questions to elicit their frank and considered views as to what it will take for the country to be able to address its challenges and realise its potential. ... We invite you to join this conversation. Please read, comment on, and share these interviews. Please ask yourself and your friends and colleagues these same questions. Let’s together find ways to create a good future.
