Looking at some of these posts about gas prices in surrounding states (VA - $1.85) and it infuriates me that we are still at $2.55 in Craigsville. Now, I know we have higher gas taxes in WV, but why? Our roads are certainly not any better than our surrounding states....potholes everywhere! WV is one of the poorest states with the highest gas taxes! WVs population is decreasing! No wonder ppl are leaving our state! Sounds like we need some new leadership! Here are gas taxes in WV & surrounding states: WV gas tax per gallon 54.1 cents Fed tax per gallon 18.40 cents Total in WV .72 cents per gallon! KY 30.8 cents per gallon VA 11.1 MA 27.4 OH 28 cents PA 40.7
