Looking back on 2014, I feel it is truly one of the best years I have ever had. I have not told everyone, but I had a heart attack scare on March 3, 2014. It was not a heart attack thank God, but it was an eye opener for me. I knew then that I needed to take charge of my weight, and save my life. If I did not, then I would not be around much longer. That day I made the decision to have weight loss surgery. My brother, Patrick Kelley Mitchell, sold the truck our father left us, so I could get the surgery. On May 29, 2014, I met with my surgeon, Dr. Roelant. He performed the gastric sleeve surgery on me on July 14, 2014. Since May 29, 2014, I have lost 125.2 lbs. I will lose 74.8 lbs more in 2015. The surgery has been a tool to help me eat less and regain control. I also workout for one hour per day. I wanted to share this with all my Facebook friends. I am also posting my before pics which I have never done before, as I was too embarrassed to do so. But, I feel my story may be able to help someone else, so I will post those pics now.
