Looking back on my genealogical year in review: * A lot of news - TopicsExpress

Looking back on my genealogical year in review: * A lot of news on the Werdesheim/Wertheim front: We successfully pieced together almost all the fragmentary records that we had found; we discovered a few new branches, made contact with Jessica Katz, Billy-Jo Trinkow, Dagmar Moroseck, and others. Judy Citron brought back some great information from her visit to the Polish State Archives. A great year there. * Very little progress on the Allweiss/Einhorn side, alas. * On the Greene side, made contact with two previously disconnected sets of cousins: with Stuart Botwinick (a cousin through Becky Green, sister of Barnett) and with a granddaughter of my great-aunt Jennie. Found that fascinating article about my great-grandmothers sister. Still no progress on finding out the familys place of origin, though. Overall, though, also a great year here. (Two new sets of cousins! Woot!) * On my mothers side, Ive been making a lot of progress on adding historical evidence to my grandfathers narrative. The big new piece of data is the date of death and burial location of my great-great-grandmother Babette Friedmann (nee Ermreuther). * The DNA samples from various cousins have been coming in, and Im starting to reach critical mass of having enough to start doing phasing and triangulating. So far, most of the likely cousins found through DNA testing have had a documented paper trail, which is great. * Ive fallen out of the habit of blogging my progress, which means I cant be sure that Im not forgetting some 2014 breakthrough, and also means Im not being as rigorous about documenting my evolving hypotheses as I should be. Ill try to be better about that again going forward.
