Looking back on my sons senior year I cant believe how fast it - TopicsExpress

Looking back on my sons senior year I cant believe how fast it went by. I graduated a Mohawk some 20+ years ago and was proud that my son did as well. What I have learned in his 12 plus kindergarten years in the Northwest school district is that there needs to be changes. People sit back and gripe about how our district lacks behind. When push comes to shove on a lot of projects its the same about 10 parents that make things happen. With other schools that are successful you will see a huge amount getting involved. We have awesome people in this district. I honestly feel our communication is lacking. How hard would it be to separate our automated phone calls to parents by class or even with sports have a calling list for the team? Parents cannot help unless they are informed. We as a district cannot expect the child to tell the parent what is going on. That just doesnt happen. Communication needs to improve out here tremendously and I think its a simple fix. If the parents are informed and they choose not to help at least its their fault. Just my opinion
