Looking for Browncoat artists! Want to see your Firefly artwork on a CD cover? Our band is currently working on a series of songs inspired by Firefly that we’re calling the Leaves on the Wind Music Project. We’re planning to release the songs as a trilogy of 5-song EPs and the first cd is almost ready to be printed but we still need artwork for the front cover. That’s where you come in! We’re looking for some talented artists interested in designing the front cd cover artwork. I’ve seen some amazing fan art out there and would love to team up with some fellow Browncoats on these. We’re envisioning that each cd cover will feature three different members of the Serenity crew, so this first cd would have Mal (of course!), Kaylee and Inara. The cover will also feature our band name, The Fallen Stars, along with the name of the project and album: Leaves on the Wind Part 1 - Still Flying. The second cd will feature Zoe, Wash and Jayne and then River, Simon and Shepherd Book for the last one. (Collect all three!) Adam Hughes’ artwork on the cover of the Serenity comic book “Those Left Behind” is a great example of the kind of layout we have in mind, but we’re definitely open to ideas! Unfortunately, we’re on a pretty tight deadline for this first one - the goal is to have it finished in time to make available at the San Diego Comic Con, which means we need the final artwork by Thursday, June 20th. I know that’s not much time at all. The second two cds will have more lead time to work with. We can’t pay you much, but we can pay you something and of course you’ll get full artwork credit and a couple of cds for your portfolio.
