Looking for HOUSING, help and guidance for an extended family member with Mental Health history. Shes a middle age woman with a criminal history from an isolated incident 20 years ago. This, coupled with her meager monthly disability check makes it hard to find housing for her in a good neighborhood. I just helped her find and move into an apartment and yet once she was there, the manager went back on the deal and now she has 3 weeks to find a new place. Hoping to find a good apartment that will take her, or BETTER YET, a group living situation with on site staff for people with her needs. She is self sufficient but struggles with isolation and loneliness. And the kicker is, when she went to her Mental Health caseworker with her situation, all they offered was a list of homeless shelters. That cant be the best that we have to offer our friends who were born with these struggles. Hoping some of you can share some wisdom with me so i can be helpful to her. The clock is ticking.
