Looking for a great home-cooked meal idea from Germany? Try Zigeunerschnitzel, or filet of pork with Gypsy-style gravy. As many of you know, Rolf Sasse is from Bavaria, in a small town called Schliersee, which is about 50 miles south of Munich at the foot of the Alps. Not only is Rolf one of Flying Leap Vineyards & Distillerys key winemakers, sommelier and chief of all FLV tasting room operations, but he is also a very accomplished chef and brewer who loves to share his love of food & wine with our customers. Rolf has posted a recipe for Zigeunerschnitzel on our website - you can access it here and download as a PDF, which you can print out and place on your counter as you cook! flyingleapvineyards/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Zigeunerschnitzel.pdf. Rolfs suggested pairing is a 2011 Flying Leap Grenache, and he serves the schnitzel with pommes-frites. Give it a try and let us know how you liked it by contacting us at flyingleapvineyards/contact/#Contact.
