Looking for a job? Tips that might help some. 1- Bring your Resume If you don’t have one, get one 2- Dress professionally First impressions count and can open or close doors 3- Know your worth Know your potential, what you bring to the table and claim it. Being prepared with your bottom line will help you narrow down the right opportunities and select according to your needs. 4- Ask questions A job interview is not just about them getting to know you, it’s also about you getting to know them. They (the Employer) are looking for the right candidate and you (the Candidate) are looking for the right opportunity. 5-Be prepared to answer questions Keep handy a couple of examples in where you overcame obstacles or challenges. Know your weaknesses and strengths. Be honest and look at your interviewer in the eye Don’t sell yourself short and trust that you can learn and perform the job 6- Speak up The interviewer does not know you; they don’t know what they don’t know so this is not a test. Be open to sharing as much relevant information that can help you obtain the job. If you don’t speak, they will only make assumptions. Understand in your mind that not every opportunity is right for you. Sometimes not getting the job Is a blessing therefore treat the job hunt as if you were shopping for your favorite car. You want to like looking at your car, you want to enjoy driving it and you benefit as it takes you everywhere, the same goes for your job. It must be a good opportunity, you must want to go to it every day and you must benefit from it. - Eileen Gonzalez
