There is a rich history with this the 54th anniversary of the event and recognised as the fourth longest running marathon in the USA behind The Boston Marathon, Yonkers Marathon And Half-Marathon and Pikes Peak Marathon & Ascent. The degree of difficulty is high for the primarily road marathon with many rolling hills and vertical climbs throughout making this one of the toughest challenges this year. Sure the latest back to back marathons, 20 hours driving between races, flights, limited food and 2 hours sleep last night may have not have been the most ideal preparation.
