Looking for advice from our Man stuff mechanic friends. We were in desperate need of a truck on a temporary basis till we closed on our house and traded my perfect Cadillac for a 2000 dodge Dakota 4.7 piece of junk lemon.( I know... peanut gallery save the comments) The seller claimed it was in perfect condition. It has been broke down more than it has been running and we are stumped at the current issue. Its overheating quickly. We have replaced the fan clutch, the water pump and the thermostat. When we went to change the thermostat we found the previous owners cut out the thermostat with tin snips and left the ring in it. The radiator has also been flushed. We were on our way to replacing the head gaskets however there are no indicator signs thats the issue.( No whistling sounds, water in the oil or oil in the water , there are no bubbles or overflow of coolant, no muddy gray oil or bubbles on the dipstick, no white smoke or sweet smells coming out of the exhaust. Any ideas what could be causing this issue would be very helpful. I am in desperate need of a running vehicle and my husband is ready to lite it a fire
