Looking for info on smart phone data usage on TelCel prepaid plans -- Im looking at upgrading to an iPhone 6 through VZW in the US. They tell me that the new iPhone is global ready and the nano SIM card can be switched out to a TelCel SIM and will work perfectly fine in Isla on TelCel towers. (If you believe otherwise, please chime in.) Ive only had a Mexican dumb phone in the past so have a few questions: 1. If I buy the little Amigo pre-paid card does this credit work towards call, text, AND data usage? If so, do you have any experience on how fast this credit is eaten up by data? 2. Is acquiring a TelCel nano SIM difficult in Mexico? Im assuming that I can just purchase one for a couple hundred pesos at a local TelCel store but want to confirm because Ive certainly been surprised in the past when I make assumptions in Mexico ;) 3. A friend suggested that TelCel may somehow inhibit/limit/prevent my plan from working the way I intend (ie- TelCel might not allow their local SIM to work in a US phone). Is there any truth to this statement? PS: Ive posted this in a couple local groups so I apologize if youre a member of both and are receiving duplicate notifications. Thanks for understanding ;)
