(Link below) Governor Robert Bentley on Wednesday announced a statewide effort to ensure all mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect receive the necessary training to better protect Alabama’s children. The Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) now has an online training course for persons mandated to report child abuse or neglect on its website. The online training is designed to instruct mandated reporters on important elements of the reporting process. Persons who are considered mandated reporters includes: public and private K-12 employees, teachers and officials, employees of public and private institutions of post-secondary and higher education, medical employees, child care workers, law enforcement officials, members of the clergy, mental health professionals and others. Anyone interested in taking the online training may do so by visiting DHR’s website or going directly to the link at training.dhr.alabama.gov.
