Looking for some advice - not criticism. We have recently moved to the island (Kanalia) and love living here, however it seems that we are surrounded (i.e. houses on three sides of us) with dog owners that apparently do not hear, or do not care that their dogs are barking at all hours of the night. We love animals, and have had both cats and dogs in the past, but our current lifestyle does not permit us the pleasure of owning a pet at this time. I understand that dogs will bark, but when it has become a pattern for us to be awakened in the wee hours of the morning by our neighbors dogs apparently standing at our fence barking, or running through our yard, it makes life here much less enjoyable. In my opinion this is more a situation of owners that are less than stellar rather than bad animals. For those of you who are Corfiots, or have lived here a long time, what is the culturally appropriate way to deal with this situation? We dont want to be the irritable neighbors who are constantly complaining, but wed also like to be able to sleep through the night.
