Looking for some military advice! My son is in the process of making a huge decision and anyone with a military background may be able to give him some clarity. He is interested in going into the Air Force after he finishes college. He has been accepted to VMI and could finish his degree in 3 years. However, he has also applied to the Air Force Academy and was contacted yesterday by their soccer coach that said they will be offering him a spot in their Prep Academy, which basically guarantees him an appointment into the Academy next year if he does well academically. So, the big dilemma is which option is the best? Is graduating from one institution looked at better than the other from a military stand point? Is it worth the extra 2 years to go to the Air Force Academy?
