Looking for something to do? Do you like to save money? Well you are in luck because all this week we are sharing with you one place a day that you can go on little or no money. This way, you will have five destinations where you can go this weekend and still have money left over for a triple-scoop of ice cream. This week’s destination city is Berlin. Today’s destination is the Berlin Wall. Yes, most of the Wall was demolished between June and November 1990, but a restored stretch remains along the southern border of Wedding and Mitte. Take a walk along the Wall by the River Spree, where it runs between the Freidrichshain-Kreuzberg districts. This will give you a visual history of the Wall and there is even a one-mile stretch known as the East Side Gallery which is dedicated to art and preserves the paintings made on the eastern side when the Wall was brought down. To get there by public transportation once in Berlin, take the U1 to Warschaer Straße. For more information go to eastsidegallery-berlin.de/data/eng/index-eng.htm and timeout/berlin/en/art-galleries/east-side-gallery.
