Looking for volunteers for this Saturday morning, January 10, 2015 to help at the HOSA (Health Occupation Students of American) Region 8 Leadership Conference at Farmington High School. FHS will be hosting more than 600 Oakland County Health Science students who will be competing in more than 50 events throughout the morning. Janet Cadeau, the FHS Medical Skills teacher and coordinator for the event, is looking for volunteers to serve as judges on the following events: Parliamentary Procedure, Biomedical Debate, Extemporaneous Health Poster, Extemporaneous Writing, Job Seeking Skills and Health Career Display. An event guideline and scoring rubric will explain how the evaluation works and volunteers do not need to have any expertise in the areas (with the exception of Parliamentary Procedure and the debate process). The time commitment depends on the event and number of competitors but would range from 1-4 hours. Janet could also use some volunteers who are familiar with the building to help with directing people and registration.
