Looking more and more like a snow event for Friday, and it could potentially be significant for places like Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, DC and points north and west. The lack of a cold air supply (thanks to a low over the Hudson Bay), will keep the snow in the western and northern portions of the state. Places like Richmond will see a very cold rain, but just about as cold of a rain as you could possibly get without seeing snow (albeit a few flakes mixing in). Lynchburg will see snow to rain/snow mixture and back to snow, but as of now it looks to be a close close call in terms of temperatures. Places east of 95, rain rain rain rain rain as the temperature at all levels looks to stay above freezing. Sorry Richmond, unfortunately this likely wont be your storm. It sucks, I know, but it is what it is. For places in the western and northern portions of the state, stay tuned!
