Looking past that which they feed you... Over the last few days, interrupted only by photos of Thanksgiving food and lists of gratitude, I have seen some pretty ugly things being said on here. I get it, people who benefit from the system want to stay comfortable within it. I must say that I struggle with the constant repealing of humanity on the issue, the use of labels - defined and manipulated, and the blatant hypocrisy of some folks, but I have to remind myself that social media is just a thermometer, not the fever. A thermometer cannot stop a fever. The good news is that I have also seen folks moved and empowered to do more, and in some cases to challenge their own self regarding the perceptions that they carry. Anyway, this video makes me feel better, both because it confronts the sickness and because I too believe that we can win. Be safe out there. #blacklivesmatter
