Looking through an old card file for something else, I found this - TopicsExpress

Looking through an old card file for something else, I found this extract from an advertisement in the August 29, 1893 Chicago Record. "When the baby is through nursing it must be uncorked and put under the tap. If the baby does not thrive on fresh milk it must be boiled." They must have had very harsh standards for infant behavior in those days. Or else newspapers not much more careful than ours today.
