Looking to 2015, I post a quote from* The Theoldmans Journal * - some year ago and Elder shared something that would be appropriate to share here. We were at a gathering a quiet repose after a Pole raising in the village. Then after talk. A young one said , but we didnt do this and that, and the Chiefs of the Nations didnt do this or that....it had been about and hour of sharing when this happened. Then the one Elder Matriarch who had said nothing spoke - This is where we are today, what was is still there also and this is where we live today. I have never forgotten these words - and they come through my prayer in only asking that we do not allow our pains of the past control our future and worse yet to influence the youth of today - We will never forget and this is where we are today. Blessings to you and thank you for all you have been doing. It matters that you are here today. (pssssst - I was that young one!) What this meant to me and I share here is we will not be as we were before and not to hold on to what was and feel disappointed at where we are today - but never forget how we got here. What we will become will be so much more because of what we all have gone through. The New world is and will be that...built upon the past. Change.
