Looks like Morrow Mtn is no where close to being open, here is a email from them: Ms. Coats; I appreciate your interest in Morrow Mountain State Park and I hope you will continue to enjoy the Bridle Trails and other outdoor recreational opportunities that the park has to offer. In order to speed up cleanup efforts and the removal of hazardous limbs and trees; the clearing of the bridle trails, most of the hiking trails, the road to the top of the mountain, the hike-in camping area, and the mountain top day-use area will be accomplished by professional contractors. A pre-bid meeting has been held with prospective contractors and bids have been received. We are currently finalizing/negotiating a contract with the successful bidder and are hopeful the successful firm will be able to commence work in the immediate future. It will be a big job as it will require clearing over thirty miles of trails, plus ensuring that all hanging limbs and leaning trees that could impact the trail are eliminated. The contractor will be working out of the Bridle Trail Parking lot. The contractor will have 90 days to complete his work, barring unforeseen circumstances or prolonged inclement weather. The Bridle Trail Parking Lot will also need some work as it has been used as a staging area and storage area for wood and stumps removed from the public use areas of the park. Please know that we are working to get the entire park open just as quickly as we can. We certainly understand that it is an inconvenience for people not to be able to recreate in the facility. Thank you again for your question and concern, and for your patronage of Morrow Mountain State Park.
