Looks like a lot of Gov workers will have tomorrow off. Not to worry though - when this mess gets sorted out they will receive pay for the days they were forced to stay home. This is a loose - loose situation. In the old days - say 1770 - the folks here in NC would have complained. A distant cousin of mine - Rednap Howell did just that and complained to the British Royal Governor Tryon. For his public concern TRYON had him condemned to death along with a number of other PATRIOTS in Orange County. Rednap left town and TRYON went on to become a murderer and when he was reassigned to be the GOV on NEW YORK he paid someone to poison George Washington. The plot failed and TRYON escaped to a British commercial vessel that was moored in the harbor. The soldier that TRYON paid was captured - tried - and hung. This resulted in the first OATH OF OFFICE swearing to protect George himself.
