Looks like my official announcement a month ago regarding my international exchange wasnt as official as I hoped. Originally, uOttawa gave me the clearance to study in Senegal for my entire 3rd year, but I received word a few weeks ago that, due to administrative issues at the University of Gaston Berger, I couldnt study there this year. My second choice for exchange was the University of Hassan II Mohammedia in Casablanca, Morocco. So, I started getting my course selection in order to apply to study there instead. As it turns out, they have a stricter policy than Gaston Berger and require exchange students to have a better command of the French language than I do. While certainly disappointing, this isnt the end of the world. I can re-apply this fall to go on exchange to one of those Universities for 4th year. In the meantime, Im still looking forward to my 3rd year at uOttawa. I met some amazing people during this past school year and I got to know others I had met in 1st year a lot better. I definitely felt some regret for the good times I was going to miss if I went away in 3rd year. You cant rid yourselves of me just yet! Im in Ottawa this summer so let me know if you want to grab a beer at some point. Thanks for reading.
