Looks like our cat Moby will be joining a short list of loved pets Ive had in my life. Liver function and thyroid issues have taken their toll on the man. Tyler Van Deusen and I picked Moby out from the shelter in Baltimore County in the Summer of 1999 to brighten up a quiet house when I was newly divorced. He was not the most loving animal, infact there were many evenings he chased me into my bed, scratching and biting me for no good reason. Aggression complex, the vet called it. Crazy frickin cat complex I called it. But seeing the boys love him (when he wasnt attacking) and him rolling up on his back with his paws bent rolling in the afternoon sun was always a welcome view of the Mobe-ster. This was tempered with a couple of visits to the gym where in the bottom of my gym bag I found Moby turdlings he had hidden away from me just to brighten my day and make my nose cringe from the additional yellow moisture he left, leaving me to listen to people down wind from me say do you smell something? Cheers, Moby, youve lived a full life and brought sunshine to our home. Sometimes losing a pet is more painful than losing a human because in the case of the pet, you were not pretending to love it-- Amy Sedaris,
