Looks like spring weather is going to be here for a while - finally. I am excited about that because now I will be ramping up my exercise for the season. While I had planned to continue with my weight loss progress after the first of the year, the extreme winter really took a toll on me mentally. It seemed like the winter was all about staying warm and not exercising the way I had planned. I did exercise, but not to the level I had been used to. The Christmas season and winters are usually times that I gain quite a bit of weight and then it takes until summer to take that weight off - if I even take it off. Well, even though I didnt lose weight over the winter, I didnt gain!!!! :-D. In my book that is progress! So rather than take until July to try maybe to get the winter weight off, I am starting this season where I left off. It will be like starting a weight loss program from the beginning but with my same lower weight and size. There is always rapid progress in the beginning of any weight loss program so maybe I will make very quick progress in the next few weeks. My goal this season is to take off another 50 pounds by October. I believe that is a very realistic and doable plan. Looking long range, I will plan to maintain again between November and next March. Then if I have any more I want to lose, I will take care of the rest of it from April next year into summer. While this seems like a slow process, the good thing is that whatever I am taking off is not coming back. This can turn out to be a two year process, but will be permanent. When I look at the last 37 years of diet yo-yos, weight up and down, having weight loss eternally on my new years resolution lists and always thinking about what diet program I will try next, I will be happy to make this a two year process and then be done with it for good. Well, have to go now. Time to exercise!
