Bob First and foremost, the WNBF will always uphold our integrity in terms of drug testing standards, and we will continue to do our best to protect athletes by instituting fair and appropriate bans on supplements that are considered to be high risk. Regarding supplement labels that claim to contain IGF-1: According to our research, the bioavailability and effects of orally consumed products containing IGF-1 appear to have limited impact on serum growth hormone levels, and until further researched are not banned. However, the WNBF and IOC consider consuming supplements containing IGF-1 to be high risk. WNBF Amateur and WNBF Professional competitors who are planning to compete should refrain from using such substances for an amnesty period of at least 3 months. Actual IGF-1 has been, and will continue to be banned for a period of 7 years. Always remember that it is the athlete’s sole responsibility to be vigilant about their supplement usage. iSatori
