Looks like the last straw for SPC Lopez of Ft. Hood was the Leave - TopicsExpress

Looks like the last straw for SPC Lopez of Ft. Hood was the Leave Form (soldiers copy) that was being withheld from him. This abuse has become very common in the last decade by Toxic Commanders. In the old days, Soldiers put in leave (anytime- 1 page), when it is approved the copy comes back to you thru distribution and then you know it was approved well in advance of your leave time (plan flights purchase tickets etc.) However now, you must submit leave (mandatory far in advance) with a plethora of extra local pages (about 20) and make sure you actually cross Ts (saw this happen in Ft Bragg or denied last second), then you wait until the day before your leave time to learn your leave (may) have been approved (sometimes going on leave without ever getting authorized copy). Someone (may) hand you the copy if you go searching for it (no distribution anymore, and they could scan/smart phone picture it and email it to you easily but never do, thus making you drive all over creation to track down a copy of the authorized leave (which is mandatory you have with you on leave)). This causes huge anxiety in the troops and if your someone to be abused (not a yes man) by the leadership, then you will always have this abusive experience when requesting leave. Always an ify situation when purchasing flight tickets and making plans, because no one will tell you if your leave is approved or not (some in WTUs just leave the day of the leave never knowing if it was denied or approved (again saw that in Ft Bragg, 1LT was almost charged with AWOL)). THIS IS WHAT WAS HIS LAST STRAW AND WHAT SET HIM OFF, per victim via victims father on NBC Set public for SHARE intention. Lets share this with as many military members we can and LIKE if you agree (have experience) with the withholding soldiers authorized leave copy hostage is abuse and has been going on for long enough! Maybe with enough military brothers and sisters, we can get NBCs attention to put pieces of this puzzle together and stop abusive/toxic commanders from creating a hostile environment for us at home (at least in this corner). Ive 21 years US Army experience, now a CW3. I dont know other DOD services but they are welcome to chime in. nbcnews/storyline/fort-hood-shooting/fort-hood-victims-dad-gunman-snapped-after-seeking-time-n72081
